Biography . . .

My wife Grace and I have lived in Cokato since 1998, and I have taught at Dassel-Cokato High School since August of 1999. We have 1 son, Jackson, born in 2006.

I grew up in Littlefork, in Northern Minnesota. Our family moved from Littlefork in 1984, stopping in Osakis and Benson, before settling in Mayer, Minnesota. I graduated from Watertown-Mayer High School in 1992. In 1997 I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences and secondary education, from the University of Minnesota-Morris, and an M.A. from Saint Mary’s University in 2005.

Prior to teaching at DC, I drove a sales route for Viking Coca-Cola in Hutchinson and St. Cloud, and then worked for a furniture warehouse and delivery service in Buffalo. I also worked for a mortgage bank in Minnetonka as a loan analyst in 1998 and 1999 before I was hired to teach social studies and driver education at DC.

I have always enjoyed competitive sports, I played football, basketball, baseball and ran track during high school and college. I have coached football, basketball and baseball, and I presently, coach football, referee basketball games and umpire baseball games.

In addition to sports I enjoy hunting, fishing, reading, and all things of historical interest.
