Marshall Ends Charger Season 2/25/14
The Chargers traveled to Marshall for their Sections 2AAA game against the Tigers on Tuesday night. The Tigers were the top seed in the section and they flexed their muscles against the Chargers. The game started with the two teams trading baskets, but soon after the Tigers would go on a tear. Marshall was able to convert on their opportunities and the Chargers were not. That combination led to a 41-16 Tiger advantage at halftime.
The Chargers came out with more fire on the defensive end, but stayed cold on offense. The Tigers were able to get to the free throw line with great frequency in the second half and converted at a high rate. The Chargers were never able to mount any kind of comeback because of that and the final score finished 68-31 in favor of the Tigers. Matthew Johnson led the Chargers with 12 points. The loss ends the Chargers season with a record of 4-21 (0-13 WCC).
