& the Fungus Amongus Players present:
“The Romancers” is light-hearted romance about two young lovers discovering that love can exist without obstacles and the excitement of danger. Their fathers are enemies so they secretly meet at the wall which divides their estate and their affections. This swashbuckling comedy is reminiscent of “Romeo and Juliet” without the tragedy! "The Romancers" is produced by Dassel-Cokato Community Education and performed by nineteen local actors & musicians. This production was written in 1894 by Edmond Rostand, who later became famous with his writing of “Cyrano de Bergerac”. Award-winning director, David Metcalf of Cokato, directs this production.
Six performances are scheduled in the intimate setting of the Dassel History Center and Ergot Museum, 901 First Street North, Dassel (located 4 blocks north of MN Hwy. 12.) One Dinner Theatre performance is schedule for March 7. Complementary desserts will be served beginning one hour prior to all other performances. (Read more)
