As most of you have heard by now, the first 5 years of a child's life are the most important. Our programs are here to guide all parents and caregivers from birth - kindergarten. We are here to support families with young children, to offer information about child development and to give children opportunities to discover and learn along with parents and caregivers.

Wild Wheels
Geared for children up through kindergarten.
Back by popular demand! Come and join the gang as we take over the high school halls and transform them into "roads" for the little ones to ride their "wheels". This is sure to be an energetic, enjoyable night! Feel free to bring your own wagon, trike, big wheel, scooter, and/or bike with training wheels. (no two wheel bikes, please!)

Early Childhood Council Members for the
2011-2012 School Year
It is that time of year again that the DC Early Childhood Programs is looking for individuals who are passionate about programming for families with young children.
No previous experience required.
Benefits include:

Early Childhood Screening
Early Childhood Screen (ECS) is for all children who will be 3 1/2 between April 1, 2010 and March 1, 2011. All children are required to have Early Childhood Screening prior to entering kindergarten. The required components of screening include developmental, speech, language, vision, hearing, reight, weight, an immunization review, as well as a review of other factors that may interfere with learning. If concerns are discovered during the screening process, additional evaluation is available to determine what kind of assistance would be most benefi cial to the child. Screening gives children at least a year to work on areas of concern before entering kindergarten. If your child is on the school census you will be sent an appointment reminder. Please contact the Early Childhood Programs Center at 320-286-4120 to make sure your child is on the census.
Screening dates for 11-12 are Oct. 7, Nov. 11, Jan. 20 and Feb. 24th.
